In my mind, the key to marriage is simple.
Above all else, be best friends.

I know, I know. I’m 30. I’ve been married for a whopping five years. What do I know about marriage advice? But hear me out here…

Think about any couple you know that’s been happily married for 5, 10, 25, heck even 50 years. I can almost guarantee, the couple you’re thinking of – whoever they are – they’re best friends. It’s the core, the base, the foundation. Because to love each other, you have to like each other.

Krista and Max are absolutely best friends. The best of friends. The best friends that split the last piece of gum in the pack. The best friends that have countless inside jokes. The best friends that are each great by themselves, but just so much better when they are together. They have that base. And they have the love that follows. The kind of love that’s almost too good to be true.
